In 1914, Hoyle Pounds started with a shed and $14. From there he revolutionalized the farming industry with his innovations. From the first rubber tire on a tractor to making LP gas a standard fuel in the farming community, Pounds has lead the way in making Winter Garden a central hub for the orange grove farmers. For 41 years, Pounds Motor Company was the Fire Department for the City of Winter Garden and also during that time helped create the first Snapper lawn mower. Pounds Motor Company has a lot of history and is still owned and opperated by the same family. Like the orange grove farmers of old times, Pounds now services the home owner and commerical mowing community. Everybody is family when they come to Pounds.
